JUNE 1, 2012 – MERCURY NEWS SERVICE IS HONOURED TO PUBLISH FOR THE FIRST TIME SIR RUN RUN SHAW’S ODE TO THE BRITISH BROADCASTING SERVICE (BBC). It was written during Sir Run Run’s exile in Vienna in 1985 but was never published due to fears of British defamation laws. But, Mercury News Service legal staff has assured us that we have only two things to fear from England: being extradited to Sweden or deported to Jordan, neither of which appears relevant. Well, here it is:
OH BULBOUS, BILIOUS CORPORATE SCOUNDRELETTE
Oh bulbous, bilious scoundrelette! Bedizened vamp of factitious launderettes!
A charwoman of world events, at once quite thorough, but always Qatar’s pet.
The Slob Prince of Doha weeps upon her apron when he listens to Putin’s “Nyet“!
He lays his paper upon her ample thighs to prime her knickers for the tete a tete.
She squirrels away what is rightly hers inside her fake but scrumptious satinette;
Then feigns repulsion and injury when he suggests that “Strumpet” is her sobriquet.

This is a rarely seen photograph of Sir Run Run Shaw taken secretly by our MNS photographer, Ogden Orffe, after a “chance run-in” with the great poet at a Mongolian cafeteria in Ulan Bator.
