‘Abdul-Jaleel Al-‘Abbaasi

Air strikes and missiles are mentioned here as the primary means used by the SAA to demolish the rats.

HOMS:

The SAA is completing clean-up of the Homs countryside as we write.  There is no cease-fire and there will not be one.  Wael is having a hard time obtaining lists of carcasses because of the highly “active” nature of the campaign.

Rats tried to escape to Al-Buqay’ah Plains east of Tal-Kalakh but were gunned down by militia.  They were trying to get to Lebanon.  No details.  Estimated losses to rats: 9.

Al-Nu’aymiyya and Sadad east of Homs City, 2 were killed and 3 captured.  4 cars were seized containing a nice load of weapons  for our militias.

Al-Hissn:  Big Christian city with a beautiful citadel.  No details.  Some rats killed.

Kafr Aayaa:  4 tunnels uncovered with weapons.  3 were 500 meters long.  1 was 1000 meters long.
Inside, SAA engineers found digging equipment.  In one tunnel east of the Hameesh School, trucks were actually discovered inside along with cars to ferry weapons to rats.  2 IEDs, each 25kgs was also found in addition to a load of stolen oil for sale.

At the Shinshaar Grain Storage Facility, 4 rats were killed and 3 taken prisoner.  No details.

DER’AH:

Mahajja:  Rats attacked a military checkpoint and were surrounded then annihilated.  Thanks to Prince Porky of Qatar, 14 new AK47s were seized along with ammo and phosphorous grenades used to incinerate foreign rat carcasses:

East Al-Maleeha:  The NDF killed this rodent:

‘Adnaan Fandi Al-Zu’bi  (SANA)

Inkhil City:  2 rats nests were destroyed.  I have no details as the SAA is evaluating.

Also, at the Police Station near the Municipal Office Center, guards opened fire on attacking vermin and killed these:

Shaaher Al-Suwaydaan
Raa’ed ‘Ali Hamad
Saamer Al-Mahmoud

Hi,

Just a short note to mention that I agree with you that
Facebook is a high handed bunch, a law unto themselves,
who operate anonymously.

I think it high time we created a forum like facebook, but without the rules.

Also, I want to create a blog like yours, but mine will be devoted to discussions regarding a carbon-neutral/sustainable US economy.

Could you please privately email me in this regard?

Specifically, I need guidance as to how to set one up.

My email is:

In case you’re unaware of it, another website that has an incomplete set of reports of daily fighting incidents is http://www.documents.sy/news.php?lang=en Syrianperspective.blogspot has not reported fighting incidents in Raqqa province in the past 7 days. The Documents.sy site has two smallish incidents at al-Tabaqa and Ain Issa. It is a mystery to me how it is that the Syrian army is unable to take the fight to the rebels in Raqqa. People have commented that Raqqa is not a strategic priority for the army. I can accept that as true. But the fact that the people of Raqqa are still… Read more »

Not a failure, ar-Raqqah will be dealt with in due time. The terrorists there have no food or water, all the farmers have fled to Iraq.

History tells us that battling on several fronts is a disastrous undertaking. Only have one offensive and stay defensive and hold the lines on all other fronts.

I posted articles about a large Syrian Army convoy heading to Al-Raqqa. I agree, that once the army arrives, the rats will jump ship quickly. However, it is not credible to call the army “feeble”. They are fighting an insurgency with thousands of rats being sent in from all over the world. The U.S. has been fighting in Afghanistan with other NATO troops for ten years without much success. I think a reworking of your ideas might be appropriate. Ziad

What a sad joke. Ever heard of Climate-Gate. Google The Telegraph UK. Even nasa claims now that CO2 causes cooling. We have data that shows CO2 follows warming by 800 years, we note that a single volcanic eruption releases more CO2 than man has made since the Ind. Revolution, that in the 1500s warm period when Greenland was green and grapes grew in Scotland, CO2 was much LOWER than today, we have Arctic ice this Feb breaking all previous records for increase, etc. Plants thrive on CO2, ie more food. Greenhouses pump CO2 in. So why do you want carbon… Read more »

Hello Ziad!I have read and heard some troubling news from Aleppo, seems like the insurgents have cut off supply routes into certain parts of the city, punishing the civilian population indiscriminately. http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/09-07-2013/125063-syrian_opposition-0/http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE9680O520130709?irpc=932 And here an interview by Syrian Girl, who supports the syrian government, with a witness in the city of Aleppo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gmApY8qd2-I Do u have any info on this? Are the syrian army forces in the area capable of re-opening the supply routes into the blockaded parts of Aleppo to improve the situation of civilians? Dear Luca, it’s becoming quite the opposite. The population is beginning to realize even more that the FSA and the J.N. are morally bankrupt. The SAA is trying to invade ‘Anadaan which will open up the entire city. In the meantime, our relatives in central Aleppo are just getting by. It’s horrible to see people suffer like this. But the army is very carefully building up its capabilities. I predict an invasion of the north part of the city withing 14 days. A long time, to be sure. But it must be done right. Ziad

Another great day, so I counted all the dead terrorists, mercenaries rats listed
its 163 DEAD terrorists, very, very impressive
I think that soldiers who kill the most terrorists rats should get promoted to be
GENERALS in the army, like the Russians did were when they were fighting Germans
I would promote the soldiers that kill most terrorists to become GENERALS
and I would increase their sallaries 10 times, they deserve it, for fighting
those obnoxious terrorists rats.

Please brother, when writing about events in Damascus,Homs,Daara,Ildib or Aleppo then mark on wikimapia the exact location and hang the link. It is 3 seconds (http://old.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.5520094&lon=36.3559578&z=15&l=0&m=b&v=8&gz=0;363472795;335466884;3005;0;0;25752;29183;22175;30470;1430;6009;1073 ). When you write “SAA killed terrorists near a restaurant, petrol station, car showroom …” for us who are not from this town that does not mean anything. Greetings from Serbian Republic (Serbian part of Bosnia), and all people here support SAA because we were also fighting against Al-Qaeda and Western hypocrites and U.S. bombs were falling on our heads ( and U.S. airplanes were falling from the sky to ). Long live Serbia. Thank you for the link. I’ll try it. With regard to the locations, I try as best as I can to show readers precisely where an operation took place. It’s like reading a book about WWII where they tell you something took place near a river’s confluence with another close to a building. I’m doing the best I can. I will improve reporting as I gain more assets. Ziad

that’t great, around 400 terrorists rats killed every day
I thought around it was 100 killed terrorists each day because few people mentioned that number in previous blogs
If that’s the case they will not last for long
I’m sure Vladimir Putin is celebrating with “VODKA” every day
on the news that so many Chechens are being killed

Ziad used to give more detail 2 or 3 months ago, I was often counting 300 to 400 per day. It’s just that he rarely post the entire list now. Also when you check on alternative sources, like anna news, sometimes they refer to an air raid over a rodent controlled array, or either a convoy not mentioned by SANA or Ziad.

that’s very, very, very IMPRESSIVE
how about their morale (among terrorists) are they aware that
they loose so many fighters ?
You are absolutelly right, there must be additional casualties among terrorists from the air raids and artylery fire
Thanks for explaining

Over the months I notice some patterns;
Ziad may sometimes give his stats the same day than SANA, but sometimes he is lagging one day behind, except that SANA hardly gives the full list or the number in each case, that’s hat I like with his blog.
Anna news seems to give a summary every 2 days which complete well what Ziad says, events that he didn’t mention, but the google automatic translation from russian is so-so.
Sometimes you have good stuff on other websites, http://arabic.rt.com/, http://french.irib.ir/, in farsi I used to have some too but the automatic translator was poor

LATE NIGHT MEAL But Ramadan is traditionally a month of nocturnal activities, especially when falls in summer. During the day, fasting Muslims stay indoors to avoid the heat and to rest. At night, after they break their fast and spend time in prayer, people go out for a stroll and a late night meal, or visit family with all their children in tow. In 2010, these Ramadan festivities seemed to have reached a peak. Restaurants and private parties for the meal of Suhur – the final meal before sunrise – went on all night. The scene was so festive that… Read more »

Read more »

Sources confirm that an israeli F-16 of an unknown configuration was shot down over the Mediterranean sea after it launched a cruise missile at a target in Lattakia. The aircraft was destroyed but the pilots ejected and were rescued by the israeli navy. The israelis use standoff missiles in an attempt to overcome the Syrian air defense system and also target it when possible. In this case, an undisclosed air defense missile with a very long range struck the israeli aircraft, breaking the standoff. I just have a wild question regarding the Alawi’s. I thought lets ask it here.

They have some *ahum* ‘unorthodox’ beliefs. But what strikes me as the most odd is that one cannot convert to their sect. Isn’t God/Allah for everyone?

The question that it raises is what does a non-Alawi has to do to gain the favour of God in their doctrine? Believe and wait until he is reborn (they believe in this appearantly) as an Alawi?

You may be confusing the Druse with the Alawites. It is the Druse who believe in reincarnation. Outsiders cannot join their community, one is either born Druze, or not. Alawites are more simply a subset of Islam, with less apparent rules and restrictions. To become an Alawite, one simply has to hang out with them, and perhaps marry into the community. To be an Alawite tends to be a matter of dropping some of Islam’s heavier rules, and also to stop going to mosques – they have an odd, distinctive belief that one meets for marriages in halls and other… Read more »

Me again, as far as I know they believe the following: https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=10&cad=rja&ved=0CHkQFjAJ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.alawites.org%2Fuser%2FAlawites%2520-%2520history%2520and%2520background%2520information.doc&ei=WRDgUd2XOI6-PfjagbAL&usg=AFQjCNHxuUNBlVMKXiX4dOfKzgPMtiq-Dw&sig2=VuI1vD8k_RK5RxbRzcjDjw&bvm=bv.48705608,d.ZWU (PDF) But then again, lots of fantasy stories surround this mysterious sect.I have the privilege to know one Alawi girl, but she does ramadan and told me they are not allowed to eat pork. We talked about religion and she told me she really wanted to read the Quran one day and all that. That makes it look like to me they are just very liberal muslims who don’t follow all dogma’s. All of you are slightly confused. The Nusayris or Alawis believe strongly in reincarnation. You can also convert to Alawism as Assef Shawkat’s family did. Our reader who suggested confusion with the Druze faith is right. It’s the Druze who do not allow conversion any longer. I’ll post an article about Alawis soon. Ziad

One more thing, it constantly repeated one cannot become Alawi on the internet. On has to be born as one. Yet they believe unbelievers are punished by becoming animals. Also a bad Alawi can be reborn as a Chistian or Jew and needs to become a good person before being reborn as an Alawi again or something. But isn’t it strange how they have a doctrine that is supposed to be the true religion according to them but prevent people from joining them. Surely the sect was created through conversion! Circumstances, persecution by Sunni’s ofcourse, may have been the cause… Read more »

Assef’s family is of Kurdish stock. They settled in Tartous 3 generations ago and converted to the local religion which was Alawism.
