FIRST POST – NOVEMBER 4, 2013 – DAMASCUS UNDER MASSIVE OFFENSIVE IN GHOUTA AND QALAMOON; ISIS CRUSHED IN LATAKIA;

DAMASCUS:  MASSIVE OFFENSIVE HAS STARTED LIBERATING JAWBAR AND AL-QAABOON

Syrian army soldiers are making preparations for a major operation near Damascus.

Syrian soldiers prepare for the final assault on Jawbar and Al-Qaaboon. (Alalam)

Use this map to cite locations:

http://www.maplandia.com/syria/dimashq/adra/

Al-Subayna:  At the Associations’ Complex in south Damascus, the SAA killed 6 rats and took 28 prisoners.  Only one name was revealed:

Shaaker Hassan Badr

Barza in the East Ghouta at the Tishreen Hospital: Confirmed 11 rats killed yesterday.

Zamalkaa Junction:  10 rats killed.  I just received these names from Monzer:

Hassan Al-Hakeem
Mustafaa Ba’daraan
Mu’tassem Shawwaal

The rest were foreigners.  There was an attempt to incinerate their bodies but the terrorists had insufficient flares for that purpose.

Jawbar south of the Electric Company:

Muhammad Halaawaa
Saadeq Jabru
‘Abdul-Tawwaab Al-Hussayni

Mudayra south of Doumaa:  A skirmish saw 5 rats surrender after one of their’s got in in the skull:

Muhammad Wahba

Daarayyaa:  At the Sukayna Shrine, 4 snipers were hunted down, cornered and offered a chance to surrender.  The rest of the story is an obituary.

Al-Hardayn toward Kanaaker:  A firefight with escaping rodents.  All 17 were killed.  There were Jordanians, Tunisians and Saudis among the group.  They were Jabhat Al-Nusra affiliated.  On their persons and inside their 4 vehicles, SAA found a huge load of military-grade TNT and stun grenades.  All this will be used to blow up Bandar’s office if he’s there the next time.

SYRIAN ARMY EMBARKS ON NEW OFFENSIVE IN JAWBAR AND QAABOON.  OUR SOURCES INDICATE THAT THE REMNANT RATS HERE ARE MOSTLY FOREIGNERS WITH ONLY A FEW HOURS LEFT TO LIVE.  THE FIGHTING IS EDGING CLOSE TO THE TOURA RIVER.

Al-Qaasimiyya:  15 hyenas met their Hyena God and are now scavenging in Hell.  No names.

Al-Dilba:  Skirmish.  One killed:

Dhiyaa’ Jum’ah

Khaan Al-Shaykh, Bayt Jinn, Hawsh Al-‘Abbaasiyya and Hayna in rural Damascus.  Some vague reports of heavy fighting here with no details.

HOMS:
Al-Rastan:  Huge demonstration demanding Syrian Army’s deployment there and destruction of all terrorist rat dens and nests:

أهالي الرستن يتظاهرون ضد المجموعات الإرهابية ويطالبون بطردها من مدينتهم

Throngs of Syrians, unafraid any longer of the defeated FSA and their scavenger allies in the J.N., riot demanding SAA protection against the plague of Islamist, Saudi-supported infidels, heretics and heathens who have devastated their country. That Rastanis would come out in such numbers without apprehension is proof that the SAA has eliminated the terrorist threat from their area.

Hawsh Al-Salloom: Fighting with no details.

Al-Khaalidiyya:  NDF put these buzzards down:

Nawras Al-Shaafi’iy
Haani ‘Adawi
Tayseer Jaaber

Keeseen:  Fighting and 2 rodents got on the Greyhound Bus to Pluto’s Palace:

Muneer Al-Qaadiri
Hussayn Mansoor

Talaf Village and Maheen:  This is a big operation to thoroughly eradicate the rodents.  The SAA has already cleared a 5km-wide area along the Maheen-Sadad road.  This is desert area and tactics will differ. Much air power is being used.  No names, yet.

Baab Hood in the City:  At the Ka’ab Al-Ahbaar Mosque.  12 rodents killed here.

Jabal Al-Nahdayn and Tal’at Al-Madhal in the area of Sadad.  At a police station, J.N. got creamed as SAA artillery savaged the group.  Wael reports that 39 were killed.  No survivors.

South Al-Hazm and West Al-Hazm on the road to Sadad, 11 killed.

Al-Raqqa Village in Homs, close to Al-Wa’er Jabhat Al-Nusra drug addicts attacked a strong point held by NDF which was used to search suspicious vehicles.  NDF foiled the attempt after the SAA arrived to lend assistance.  The group of rats called itself the “Movement of Free Men of Syria” (yawn).  Number confirmed killed:  22

Tal’at Raakaan:  37 rodents killed in a surround-snuff operation that has become an SAA standard in anti-insurgency warfare.  Of the killed, a large number of Egyptians and Saudis.  No names, yet.

My, my.  Poor Bandar.  Methinks his beard is awfully close to the chopping block.

‘Aaref Rustum
Taareq Idlibi
‘Adnaan Jarjoora

Al-‘Aaliya Village:  19 savages were killed here by Ba’ath Militia.  Trucks with missiles were destroyed, going up in a huge ball of fire that could be seen from Slinfeh, my wife’s town:

Maajed Al-Hiluw
Hammood Al-Wuday’iy
Sadreddeen Kabboosh
Marwaan Al-Sha’aar
Mahmoud Jamaaleddeen
Yahyaa Al-Kuzbari
‘Aamer Ghandoor

The others could not be identified.

Hakru Village:  An attempted infiltration resulted in 6 rats being killed by villagers with the help of militia:

“Abu Hulagu Al-‘Iraaqi” (Id pending. This oaf took the name of Ghenghiz Khan’s nephew who is responsible for killing the Caliph Al-Musta’ssem Billaah in Baghdad which heralded the end of the Islamic Golden Age. What a buffoon!)

Al-Daghmashliyya:  2 rodents killed attacking a checkpoint:

‘Aqeel Al-Bustaani

Fakhri Muhammad
“Abu Bakr Al-Leebi” (Id pending. LIBYAN DUNG BEETLE AND PROFESSIONAL FUNGUS)

No other names have arrived.

Al-‘Utayra:  ISIS provided the entertainment again.  A feud over booty between ISIS groups resulted in a massive explosion of heat-seeking missiles, rocket launchers, Doschkas and grenades.  A real fireworks display.  Among the dead are Kazakhs, Daghestanis, Turks and 2 females.  Hilarious.

DER’AH:

Al-Nakhla on the Old Dam Road near the police station building in Al-‘Abbaasiyya Neighborhood, a car with lots of weapons was destroyed.  Inside were these carcasses:

Looks like the Qalamoun battle will be pivotal, FSA retreating from Damascus/Ghouta there, but just now

Francesco Cerretti ‏@Cerrezio_FC 1m
Liwa al-Islam militants control #Qalamon region. Few days ago the leader of the group met saudi prince Bandar bin Sultan

Bandar somehow has an armed battalion having 23 T-72 tanks in the Bekaa valley which will be looking to take part along with 3-5000 fighters. This is where the Syrian air force comes in.

The battle for the Qalamoon is the end of all entryways from Lebanon. Look for fighting in the Bekaa Valley as a rear-guard action. The Lebanese government is useless and will go the way of Saudi Arabia. It’s just a matter of time. Big battles looming as the SAA slowly chews up territory. Ziad

can you confirm this ziad?
Arabi press correspondent in Damascus suburbs said that around 400 armed militants have turned themselves in and handed over their weapons to Syrian Arab Army in the town of Deir al-Asafeer in Eastern Gouta located in Damascus suburbs.
The correspondent continued that most of the militants are from a battalion called Dere’e al-Asimah (Capital’s Shield).
Deri al-Asafeer town has been witnessing ongoing clashes between Syrian Army and other militias, especially after the army advance on the area sealing it off from many sides.

Update on the CW/sulfur story. Apparently the goods were not being smuggled into Turkey from Syria, but the other way around.

Turkish patrol seizes over a ton of chemicals from smugglers at Syria border

http://rt.com/news/turkey-syria-chemicals-seized-207/

“The vehicles contained 20 bags of sulphur, weighing about 50 kg each, and eight sealed barrels. Their contents were not immediately known.

Republican People’s Party (CHP) chairman Faruk Logoglu said in a statement on Monday that the barrels are suspected to contain chemical material. “Traffic was from Turkey to Syria,” he added.”

That changes things a bit…

‘US, Pakistan spy agencies lead Jaish-ul-Adl’ http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2013/11/05/333032/us-pakistan-lead-jaishuladl-group/ “An Iranian lawmaker says the US and Pakistani intelligence services lead the Pakistan-based Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group responsible for the recent deadly attack on Iranian border guards. “The key point in this case is the role that US spy agencies play by means of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in conducting such terrorist attacks. This issue has been confirmed in the meeting between representatives of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and members of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee,” Javad Karimi Qoddousi said on Monday.
