YABROUD IS LIBERATED! NEW MAP!

YABROUD IS LIBERATED! All that remains is Ras al-Ayn, Falita, and the Lebanese border. As you can see on my new map, Hezbollah has made gains at the border; however, the Arsaal supply route is still open. Look for Hezbollah to obstruct this route over the next few days. Failta is going to be liberated in the next 72 hours!

Here is my previous map of Yabroud:

Here is my recently updated map:

Is this a case of bum bandit unity?

Syrian National Coalition ready to make peace with Israel http://www.voltairenet.org/article182739.html

“According to one its leaders, Kamal al-Labwani, the Syrian National Coalition would be willing to conclude a peace deal with Israel: the Jewish state would step up its support for the Syrian opposition’s efforts to topple President al-Assad in exchange for giving up the Golan Heights.”

Note the terminology used, “step up it’s support”.

Im very happy with this news but still don’t understand how thousands of rebels escaped from yabroud on foot ??? did they pay their way out or was their it an arranged withdrawal like in qusair. I would have preferred all to be dead .

I think that they were deliberately allowed to leave so that they can return home to Saudi Arabia or Tunisia or Jordan, etc. and cause the same mayhem in these countries that have led the war on Syria.

They were using yabroud as a base and must have fled on foot . All the Food supplies, blanket, ammo and weapon they had gathered must have been left behind. So A few thousand man on foot, low on ammo and food out in the desert being chased by one of the most disciplined army in the middle east and the most powerful resistance movement in the world! The only reason they are still running from village to village and getting killed is cos they are STUPIT beyond belief.

Here is a description of why the Syrian flag is the colours ; ” it comes from the Arabic poem بيــض صنائعنا سود وقـائعـنا خضر مرابعنا حمر مواضينا and it means, our achievements are white, our battles are black, our land is green and its been watered with the red blood of those who fall. Also it represents the 3 different eras that came on Syria in the past. The Black for the Abbasi “Their Flag was black” The green for the Rashidi and the white for the Oumawi and again the red represents the blood of our heroes died… Read more »

Incredible accurateness by Syrian Perspective : just like with the Al Qsayr battle last year; you infos were all correct, and your predictions realized with hour-precision.
Thanks for the amazing job, SyPer !

The Yabroud guerillas appear to be between the hammer and the anvil but, I notice, on the Lebanese side of the border the security seems to be mainly Lebanese Army. I have no high opinion of them other than as garrison troops. Shiny brass and polished boots. The new map clarifies an issue; in another post I made some snarky remarks about SAA command which, although I don’t know that they are not at least partially justified, I also feel that they were not wholly justified. It appears, now, that the aim is to mousetrap the ruerillas between Syrian forces… Read more »

Thank you Leith, it is always good to see the evolution on the map. Besides the importance of Falita, which of the remaning cities in the Qalamoun is critical to sealed off the region ? Why the other cities in the Qalamoun are not as important as Yabroud ? Size ? Infra strucutre ? Access to highways ? Tks anyway, I am thrilled with SAA victory in Yabroud, I have been looking at this victory since I watched that RT news reporter inteviewing rtas in Yabroun kid last year and they were at easy feeling strong and in control…..well at… Read more »

‘A regional official involved in the Syrian question says: “The Battle of Yabroud will change the entire war in Syria and will prompt the other side to accept the fact that the Syrian regime is on the verge of winning the war” ‘.

The above was written by Sami Kleib in an article in Al-Akhbar on 11 February 2014. Let’s hope the words of this regional official prove prophetic.

Wow, I’m very impressed Yabrud is now finally in the bag. I thought it would take longer. This has got to put a dent into the “Rebels” plans. I don’t think the opposition has a policy anymore. They are only trying to hold on as long as possible. Since they have no chance of winning, why do they persist? It’s not like they are fighting for their lives, they can just pack up and go back to Libya, or Tunisia, or whatever other country they came from. In some wars it makes sense to keep fighting, but in this case,… Read more »

Matt, i agree with you. It is visible that FSA is collapsing, they are reduced to a quarter of their original size give or take, due to defections to other rat groups or simply dead by SAA, NDF or hizbollah. In the last few months I have noticed a growing number of FSA surrending to SAA, maybe this group will end up totally disolved in few months. JN and the Islamic Front are the big rat groups now while ISIS seemed to have retreated to Al Rakka and plan to stay there for the final extermination by SAA.
