I think this map is a bit outdated.I think the road between Aleppo prison and SAA positions has to be marked as contested instead of green and Anadan,Haritan and Kafr Hamra should be markest as contested too. What do you guys think?

Good point, just raised a comment on this matter. I would also ellect Sheik Maksud as something else but not in the hand of terrorists, since the Kurds hold that area and are not fighting the Government of Syria. In this way the narrow gap to totally encircle Aleppo is actually quite small.

I agree there, not sure about Anadan but there were constant clashes in Kafr Hamra atleast, and same for Sheik Maksud i guess … so probably contested zones?

I also wondered about Sheikh Najjar industrial city, wasn’t it contested (outdated wiki maps show it as contested too) ? If rats took that over then i missed it obviously.

Just my thoughts 🙂

Thank for the map, it always nice to see in a map the hard won battles. Wouldn’t you put Sheik Maksud under SAA since it is occupied by the Kurds ? Would the narrow gap Ayn Al Tal very tight once Sheik Maksud is not under the terrorists ? Hope the encirclement happens soon….
On another subject, interesting to see the central prison siege being lifted without a continues terrain, but expanded terrain, it seems like a special ops dropped there to reiforce and push the enemies outwards.

So the SAA lost Tell Shuwehneh and its positions in Al-Layramoun?

I mean I do not see much to be happy about compared to the old map:

Yes, SAA control of West Aleppo has significantly diminished in the last month, with no noticable advance in the East, and the prison is naturally still beseiged as ever, despite Ziad’s trumpeted premature ‘confirmation’ yesterday.

Perhaps the ingenious SAA ‘strategery’ is to first hand West Aleppo over to the Wahabbi Hordes, so it can then be obliterated back to freedom over the space of several years on glorious ANNA News videos, like Jobar?

Your sarcasm is refreshing and you are painfully right with “obliterated back to freedom over the space of several years on glorious ANNA News videos, like Jobar” Some sources say that 5000-7000 new Jihadists have left Turkey for Aleppo. While this shows the shamelessness of Erdogan it unfortunately means that the “rats” have more than compensated their co-Jihadists who left for Lattakia earlier this month. Furthermore we have to see whether the following info which currently has only “rumour” status turns to be true: “”7 vans” containing BGM-71 TOW ATGMs being delivered into Syria between 0200 and 0400 on 6… Read more »

There is no such thing as a fair war. All that matters is who wins and who loses.

Assad is winning this war.

TOW, SCHMOE – don’t worry about ATGMs – General Ziad has reassured us that T72s are in any case completely superfluous to SAA requirements: for increased glory, they prefer to fight with one hand tied behind their backs for about half a decade before revealing the mess of Ghost Troops who will suddenly strangle the enemy with spaghetti hoops and harsh language, or something! Eyes wide shut … Vorwärts zum Endsieg!

War is at least half perception, misjudge and opportunities vanish. On another level, one can say that troops morale is more than half perception.
What’s with the tag-team perception management operation? Facts or sowing doubt, which is it? Nice try boys (girls/whatever)
Authority lives and dies on perception. Keep trying…pretty obvious by now. I guess parrots can live along time after all. Hope you find another cage to foul eventually.

Ah, yes, perceptions indeed! You presumably know that in the mandatory Baathist State mythology, the ignominous thrashing inflicted in 1973 at the hands of Israel is in fact portrayed as a glorious SAA victory brought on by the brilliant leadership of Air Commodore Assad, and to publicly state the self-evident truth even 30 years later would see any Syrian citizen dropped down a deep hole, perhaps forever? While such fossilised bureaucratic obduracy is an impressive monument to Stalinist ‘perception management’ techniques, do you believe that a system based on it can survive modern communications, much less triumph in the face… Read more »

the people back the government and the army. the army has a airforce, ballistic missiles and is a 500,000 strong professional army. how are they going to lose. hiding behind civilians. moving by way of tunnel, indicates the terrorists, for that is all they are, are weak and pretty much amateur.

Yes, a “500,000 strong professional army” which sub-contracts its border security to Al Qaeda for years on end and allows them to rampage freely over half the country, throwing enough weapons depots into the bargain to keep them ripping the place up for the next twenty years? Come on, it sounds more like SAA = Senile Arab Army!

And if the combined opposition to Assad’s government is “weak and pretty much amateur” by comparison, why did SAA stopped publishing its casualty figures about a year into this bloody mess? [Hint: embarrassingly large]

The Syrian army have Kornets-E and RpG-29 in the thousands. those are better anti tank weapons. those are better than the american ones. greater range and penetration capability.Hezbolah had a field day with them against Israel tanks . But if Russia want it ,they can supply the latest Kornet-D with 10km range multi purpose guide missiles against tanks -troops and can even defeat drones and low flying combat planes and helicopters. Still without anyhting new ,the syrian Army precision artillery can defeat anything NATO brings to the table to the rebels. Without air superiority ,will be very though for any… Read more »

All said.. if you have pretty dam good intelligence of all enemy movements and positions ,,the no matter which weapon NATO invent and give to the rebels.. it will be totally irrelevant .What any Rebel or special forces will do if their position spotted and receive a shell on their heads? Nothing they can do.. instant death. Now if the Rebels get tanks.. The Syrian army can defeat them with the Kornets-E that hezbolah had a lot of fun fighting Israeland defeating their merkabas IV. So again no panics.. Syrian precision long range Artillery with good intelligence can defeats all..… Read more »

Hey, the rebel/terrorists and their supporters are starting to get nervous (sooner as i expected) 😉 The new talk of a chorine gas attack (done by our rebel friends) is clear evidence that a critical area is under threat. This could be the Ghouta as they always use the same playbook (you attack there and they use chem. weapons in return). Maloola and Bakhah have been taken. Soon the last phase of the Qalamoun offensive will begin and we can see rebel/terrorist preparing their fanboys for this major loss by saying (i guess joking) the Qalamoun has no strategic value… Read more »

also the focus has changed for saa currently it seems. previously it had been aleppo and they made a lot of progress. currently the main fronts are at latakia (kesab) and qalamoun around damascus (rankus, malieh, jobar) . I think once kesab is retaken they will shift focus back to aleppo again.

Kesab was to get relief for Aleppo, they need to get aleppo to have a major city(like Bengazi), fly in the western puppets and call for foreign Help (no-fly-zone like lybia). SAA should kill all rats there, every rat which escape will escape to Israel, Jordan, Turkey, Irak and come back with new western weapons. And another important thing: SAA shoukld start to use brbe wire together with landmines around their checkpoints, to stop the surprise attacks from the rats (sandpiles alone are too esasy to storm). I can´t understand why every snackbarian video shows that SAA don´t use nato-wire/barbe… Read more »

Could you add a description of the flags at the bottom right. And maybe also switch the colors. Looks like either the Rebels will encircle the left side of the map or the Syrians will encircle the centre of Aleppo. Also looks like the Prison is still under siege ?

Why Syrper said Aleppo Prison is freed some days ago, and know show this map, where Aleppo prison is still under Siege? With such movements it´s hard to use this site as trustable surce, sadly. Please don´t do the mistakes the terrorists usually do to claim victorys where no victorys are (that looks like the situation could be like the terrorists claim it is. Like the former facebook site from the SAF, where they claim Taftanas hasn´t fallen, while youtube get flooded with videos showing angrybeards all over the base). It´s better to claim just one victory in a month… Read more »

Not sure if it was claimed that prison was completely free, if i got it right it was said that siege was lifted. Atleast i understood there’s no fight around prison itself and fights were moved to vicinity, to areas like Jbeileh.

Still, source from prison (just yesterday) said earlier that area to the south, north & east from prison is rat-free land, and on maps it’s still vermin infested. Makes me wonder.

It is probably true, not a big deal though since most of the small cities and villages in Qalamoun are being freed as we speak after the two bastions, Yabruk and Rankous, were freed in the last few weeks. The small villages and towns have no major defenses and are left by the terrorists to avoid being trapped and exterminated. All towns in Qalamoun are now being freed and it should not take much time and at a reduced amount of troops as well. Battle hardener troops are needed to boost SAA presence in the South and in Aleppo. Surprisely… Read more »
