Father Francis van der Lugt Executed in Homs

Father Francis van der Lugt was executed this morning in Old Homs. Frans was a Dutch Jesuit priest that had worked in Homs since 1966, teaching youths how to grow crops amongst other things. He was beaten and shot in the head twice by the gunman.

Very sad news. I read the article on Father Francis this morning on breaking news. They have no regard for life whatsoever. Rot in hell.

By all accounts Father van der Lugt was a true man of God, and his murder was an abomination. those responsible will, undoubtedly, receive no hint of mercy when they stand for the judgement. Rest in peace, Father.

Thanks for posting Ziad! The father was a tried & true friend of the Syrian people. If only the tyrannical President, Dr. Bashar al-Assad wouldn’t have harassed the good padre from practicing his religion, maybe he would still be alive today or at least that is what SOME would have you believe.

Many know better and a wiseman once said, “They fool you, they keep fooling you & enjoy fooling you, not be because they are smart, but it’s because you are foolable.”

RIP Father Francis

Hi Llewellyn bro … looks like some people have misinterpreted your post … probably cos you wrote “… If only the tyrannical President, Dr. Bashar al-Assad wouldn’t have harassed the good padre from practicing his religion, maybe he would still be alive today or at least that is what SOME would have you believe.” They have not understood the ” SOME would have you believe”
Love and peace bro Amir

Yes Amir you are correct. My post was sarcastic & a dig @ the western propaganda, aka: “SOME would have you believe….. ” It was in support of the Syrian Govt. I believe the priest was in Syria since the 60’s according to the Web-link. In that time he had no issues with Dr. Assad or his father for that matter. Afterall the priest was executed only after the rodent-invaders arrived on Syrian soil. However, some media outlets would have you believe otherwise with a slanted view indicating the legitimate government is to blame for this act.

Pater Frans van der Lugt is vermoedelijk vermoord omdat de vrouw van president Assad eens een bezoek bracht aan het levenswerk van de jezuïet, een landbouwproject. Dat vreest de orde der jezuïeten. It says that Order of Jesuites think he is murdered because Dr Assad’s wife visited his agricultural project. Other media downplaying as always…. “it has nothing to do with islam, religion of peace… “

He is an example for each of us to help the opressed and suffering until the most dark days and bring a spark of hope there where it seems gone, with danger for his own life. He has been savagely murdered by these terrorists. And if the western media do not report this horrible event in truth, than they… Read more »

In an hypocritic statement the PM of foreign affairs, Frans Timmermans, declared to be shocked by the death of the priest. He called him a victim of an awfull battle.
The hypocritical bit is that he knows very well what he represents; gasspipes and “lebensraum” and doesn’t have the guts to call the perpetrators by their generic name as terrorists, sponsored by this same government, cowardly comfortable behind the back of the USA and Great Brittain.

what a sad story… these terrorists want to wipe out everything the Syrian ppl hold dear…

I read this in the guardian news and they very subtly imply that the priest was murdered by the Syrian govt foreces.
they used words like “the rebels were shocked by the news”…. “he lived with us, ate with use….”
its unbelievable how someone will twist such a tragic news knowing full well the perpetrators and still want to take advantage of a tragedy.

what happened to humanity?

These true words may have killed him…. “”il ne faut pas diaboliser le régime de Assad pas plus qu’il ne faut pas angéliser les insurgés du FSA”. But certainly by “Nusrah shocked rebels” not by Syrian government….

Paul, I too have been shocked by the dishonest news media around this terrorist murder. I wrote a post to the Voice of America site, reproaching them for their falsity. This innocent priest was murdered by the terrorist rebels who are supported by the US and EU. The media writes about it in a very vague way, which leads one to suppose that anyone might have killed him, and we don’t know why. We know exactly why. Attempts to blame the Syrian govt are also infiltrated, as you note. Such terrible dishonesty!

Dear Frans, R.I.P.

“The governor of Homs – Talal al-Barazi said that rebels from the Al-Nusra Front took him outside on Monday and shot two bullets through his head”

In February only 66 of the 3000 Christians were still living in Homs.

Hi Ziad and Syper readers. I have a thought which I would like to share. It is not related to father Francis (RIP). Whilst the new anti tank weapons may not be a game changer in terms of attacking tanks, I fear they may use them against soft targets (schools hospitals military/security buildings. I know nothing about weapons capability but if it can blow up a tank then it can blow up buildings etc. I fear these bastards will wreak havoc unless these weapons can be neutralised … and quickly. Are these groundless fears on my part? I hope so.… Read more »

At around $50,000 USD a pop, these things aren’t cheap! I don’t believe it makes sense to use them for anything other than high value targets, such as armoured vehicles, command centres and troop concentrations. With fewer rats available, those remaining who still wish to die for religious glory, free drugs and dirty money, will be armed with higher tech weaponry. Reminds of the end-of-war scenario, wherein the collapsing German military fielded every kind of wunder weapon available to stall the inevitable end. This also fits in with the pseudo ‘battle of the bulge’ type distraction in Kassab. Fighting in… Read more »

Thanks Spinworthy … I am somewhat reassured .

I realise the war is unwinnable by the crazies ultimately.

I just thought the damage to infrastructure could be horrendous (power stations come to mind…. possibly water and sanitation facilities … any number of important, if not critical, soft targets).
However, as someone said in an earlier post, the spirit of resistance and the defence of the homeland cannot be vanquished by endless barbarity murder and mayhem … which is consistently being squished by SAA etc. (not in those words but the same or similar sentiments).

Love and peace bro Amir

I see in previous posts and elsewhere that ther word “jesuit” immediately stirs a level of suspicion which to some degree I understand, In this case I don’t know the gory details, but on a cursory level this man appears to have given much of his life to the service of the Lord and to others. From a Christian perspective ( be it anything from Catholic to the modern day mega churches which are glorified satanic command centers ), institutionally many have lost their way and this man seems to have been much closer to what the the values of… Read more »

Then you have the ones like Blitzer and Amanpour who are demonic vessels knowingly spreading lies and squelching the truth.

Blitzer, Amanpour (Iranian Jew) are both Jewish Zionists, their job and loyalty is to Israel, Zion, Khazar empire. There is more to Zion madness then meets the eye. The ultimate goal is a Khazar empire with vassal states like Turkey, Saudi.

‘Executed’, Ziad, means “put to death after due legal process”. Your use of it in this context implies you are legitimizing this grisly murder by your ostensible political enemies.

Propaganda 101, Ziad; words matter.
