East Ghouta Offensive – Updated Map

My new map of the East Ghouta Offensive. As you can see, the terrorists are cutoff from any supply routes in Jobar. The SAA has effectively cleared the area of the Tameco Pharmaceutical Company in Al-Maleeha.

The SAA is backed by the NDF, Hezbollah, Arab Nationalist Guard, and SSNP. If the terrorists lose the East Ghouta, Damascus will essentially be terrorist-free.

Fadel. do you think SAA and its allies can eliminate terrorists in Jobar and Al malliah before the Presidential elections, I thinka that is very important, specially in Jobar where they can shell the City

Wow, the SAA have a lot of work to do, I mean, whatever way you look at it, that is a lot of buildings to clear, good luck. However I’m sure the su 24 and mig 23 Jets will make a nice clean slate.

There is still quite a lot building, but in an expanded map, 2/3 of rat territory in Damascous are farms towards east, once Zamalka is freed you can say all Easter Ghouta is gone for the rats, like Qalamoun relationship with Yabroud.

It seems that lately (for the past few months) the maps often tend to be zoomed in rather close. Would be nice to see a broader view.

Regarding the updated map, some people believe to see, that there is little progress. I think, they have no idea. I recommend the excellent series of videos from Anna News (“Flank strike”), Here you can get an impression how difficult is the cleansing of this area (Jobar), house by house, stone by stone. Who expects a quick victory over this well trained and fanatic enemy is wrong.

Eastern Ghuta is an area of 10-15 districts (Zamalka, Etc.) that surround Agricultural Ranches and Fields. It is an highly populated enclaves that has districts which are interconnected via a web of roads, and does not lead into another country (unlike the Qalamoun or the southern front). The Mleeha offensive has a particular objective and that is to eliminate the threat of shelling on Damascus itself, several other districts adjacent directly to Damascus are within the same plan. However, the SAA is not to treat all districts in this area with urgency because containment can work for a while while… Read more »

Off Topic: Putin continues to commit treason through his pathetic inaction and ‘negotiations’ with various global leaders. Russia has already lost the initiative after the Crimean vote where Putin should have ordered his forces into Eastern Ukraine in a lightning operation when the readiness of the Junta was at its lowest. Instead he refused to do this because he was threatened with financial sanctions-it was said to him that he must not enter Eastern Ukraine and that he begins ‘negotiations’ immediately, either that or he and his cronies will face stiff sanctions against their personal interests in the West. The Russian President said he thought that asking activists in the southeast of Ukraine to hand in their weapons was the right approach, but this measure should also be applied to armed Ukrainian nationalist groups. He said the situation can only be solved through a compromise between internal players.

If Russian troops had been in Eastern Ukraine it would have been a major deterrent to any further sliding of the conflict. As it is now with Russian troops having been held back, and the Junta regime unleashed in full force, you have a true humanitarian disaster that should have and could have been avoided with a strong and decisive hand. How’s that for hating the world to death. The problem however is that the Russian political elite were told to go no further after Crimea, less they lose all their ‘privileges’ which they enjoy by virtue of their ties… Read more »

Seems that Allepos rats try to blow up all important/famous buildings in the town. Better put your troops and generals in unimportant buildings. I bet the rats think they can kill important persons when they blow up the best houses around them. So better put your headquarter in an poor little house, where no snackbarian would expect it, than in exposed houses which are known all around the world (and think about the data the secret services of the USA give to the snackbarians…so keep moving and don´t stay in one place for too long.

The same hotel was attacked a couple of months ago using the same tactic of burrowing under it like rats, though it was only partially destroyed.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

I hope the SAA learnt their lesson the first time and were able to limit the number of casualties the second time.

This is not the first time that Rats have destroyed a building in old Aleppo via tunnel bombs. You think they would have used the detection tools to monitor tunnelling here, but hey why worry – we can always find out when it blows up. Seriously another show of incompetency, and if you observe closely – every passing day they are getting close to the Aleppo Citadel. Again and Again – you will see this but no proactive action from the government. And the reason we are seeing tunnel bombing this frequently is – after year of digging from rebel… Read more »

detection tools? my friend, you really seem to have no clue about the sheer magnitude of this conflict. do you realize how many positions the SAA have established, and continue to maintain, in syria? do you realize the fluid and mobile nature of these positions? the number is unimaginable. if you expect them to deploy a geological monitoring team with “detection equipment” to each one of these positions, it would be a gross understatement to say that you are expecting the impossible…and by advanced western army standards rather than the standards of an organization operating under the immense pressures, restrictions,… Read more »

Ziad, the terrorists have used chemical weapons again in Daraa and captured more possitions. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NNwLI2HfMs
The fallen soldiers have the same symptoms as the ones few weeks ago.
I hope the Syrian army will step up the efforts to counter this asap.

I am also worried about the Situation in Daraa… if wikipdia is right there are 17.ooo soldiers and allies against 30.000 “rebels”…

I bet no more than 12.000 terrorists…but with chemical weapons, backet by our politicians and our MSM. And the terrorists must feel save, in another attack they film dead soldiers, some with gasmasks next to the corpses:

Maybe the plan of SAA is to fight them in open field when they come out of their holes and are moving towards Damacus…good targets for SAAF then… but i think the “rebels” will get air support then by Israel or jordania when they are ready to go north

That´s it, and after the terrorists get enough land around Israel…they wait till the first attack on Israel, to invade …..and in two Years Israel will have the double territory than now (and the USA will accept that, The EU will accept it, and the rest don´t care). It´s just the biginning of something much bigger, it´s not the syrian government, it´s the syrian Land and it´s gas which is important. And you can easily steal Land from a country ruled by Terrorists, that´s why our government support terrorgroups in Syria.

Ziad, the SAA is too kind to the terrorists. Start the real war against these tunnelapes and level the whole place where they hide out of the safe distance. Use atillerie till not a single rat moves and don´t stop as long there are survivors. The citys are fucked up right now, and have to be rebuild later, so take it easy and destroy the areas with the rats inside.

It’s not as easy as it seems. They just go hide in the tunnels until the bombardment ends and then they go up and take their positions. In an urban warfare scenario, like Aleppo or Damascus, you have to use artillery, a lot of infantry (including spotters) and tanks covering them. Air strikes when necessary. Buldings are always booby-trapped and unless you storm them by infantry assault teams you can’t get them. Destroy all the place? Even worse, all ruins stopping any armoured vehicoles movement: Stalingrad 2 Syrian style.. In the countryside is a lot different, you haven’t a lot… Read more »

And to kill the civilians in it also ? There are already enough civilian casualties that you simply can not prevent in such a war, but you can limit it. Anyway, there is no quick victory. I think the tactic of SAA is working. Let them do what they have to do.

Pitty that SAA can’t flood the city. That would get those rats out of their tunnels. You would see them climbing on the roofs! hahahahaha
