Syria urges UN to take measures against Israeli airstrikes on Damascus targets http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2014-12/08/c_133838558.htm DAMASCUS, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) — The Syrian foreign ministry urged the UN to take measures against Israel for its airstrikes against two Syrian positions earlier on Sunday, according to the state news agency SANA. “Syria calls for imposing deterrent measures against Israel which didn’t hide its pro-terrorism policies and its premeditated intentions against Syria,” the ministry said in a letter to the UN. The letter was made public just hours after Israeli war jets struck two Syrian positions in the capital Damascus, including a military post close… Read more »

U.S. President Barack Obama has repeatedly said he would not send American military forces into ground combat operations against IS. “It doesn’t mean that we should preemptively bind the hands of the commander in chief or our commanders in the field in responding to scenarios and contingencies that are impossible to… Read more »

Have to say that the fight in Al-Shaykh-Miskeen is way tougher than I originally thought it would be after the SAA mobilized key forces there, it tells me few things by now : 1) This is a fight to death, like break it and lose it for rats in Daraa, critical for holding into the other towns. I have to say that though Al-Shaykh-Miskeen sits in the old Damascus-Daraa road and it is a cross road to Nawa and Sweida, I failed to understand the real strategic value beyond being a key cross road, no major hills, strong fortifications etc…… Read more »

Ironically, the report, which included a list of the ten major interrogation techniques used by the CIA, was released on the eve of Dec. 10, Human Rights Day — the day the world honors the United Nations’ (UN) Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). State television China Central Television (CCTV) covered the… Read more »

Rebel forces are inside the wire at Deir Ez-Zour military airport . I would suspect that means its only a matter of time before it falls. The barracks area fell yesterday and with it, opposition forces gained large amounts of weapons and ammunition.

Here we see a hell cannon shot, that falls exactly where the rebels wanted it. amazing shot with that propane canister. scratch one SAA firing position.

After four years of war Syria should start to use google and search for “HESCO”. I wonder (after 200-300 videos of attacks on outposts) why syria didn´t use this cheap and very helpfull things to secutre their bases and outposts. What do you think about the fact that the USA use this gear in Afghanistan, and not a single base gets overrun there (OK, they leave some of their outposts later, but there are no behading videos after the snackbarians stormed the outposts) Think about it, it´s cheap, easy to build and you fill this cages with earth and stones… Read more »

AMERICANS ,IF YOU KNOW,MUST BE VERY PROUD BUT YOU PROBABLY ARE NOT AWARE. If they had cut this off or never started how many lives would have saved.Americas TAX money at work. This is a paste from an article link from yesterday’s blog. The United States has stopped paying most of the pro-western rebels fighting in northern Syria and has suspended the delivery of arms to them, rebel commanders told McClatchy Tuesday. On Tuesday, he reported later, a State Department representative informed him that non-lethal – food and medical supplies, primarily – would continue, but not pay for individual fighters.… Read more »

The organ-eaters are purging their own (again ?).

“”The ISIL executed its former governor in Mosul, Moamar Touhleh, on charges of creating rift among ISIL members through provocative moves aimed at creating conflicts between local and foreign terrorists,” the source said…. ISIL court has issued rulings for the execution of 9 ISIL members on charges of trying to escape the war.” (farsnews)
