He´s right: Nato is not their enemy, but Russia is Nato´s enemy. And the goal is to destroy the political leadership of Russia and install a puppet (like funky drunken Jelzin ) who accepts that American investors get all important russian ressources. America didn´t see other countrys, they only see resources and people who sit on these resources. They didn´t want friends they want servants. Russia will never have peace until they have no ressources which are interesting for the US. So if Russia want´s peace they have to be prepared for war, the battlefield would be Europe, they are… Read more »

ISIS attempt in Der Ez Zor, which failed miserably, will pay very large dividends for Syria, besides the smashing victory and thousands of rat casualties, local tribes started to feel and see Syria’s commitment to return order to the country side, no surpise they are now joining the PDC, NDF and helping the SAA go clean the mess, this ismthe real victory, without local people support ISIS not sustainable, more tribes will think twice and see the example Shu’aytaat. Things look very promissing for Syria in 2015, may God continues to bless this people and its leaders now and onwards.… Read more »

Canthama, you are all to optimistic. If the SAA is victorious in the metropols Aleppo, Damascus and Deir Ezzor, this will only be the starting signal for the aggressors for all-out war on the Syrian Arab Republic (and possibly Iraq). You see this already in the offing, when you take a look on the supply lines they are currently trying to establish. It is sad to notice, but this war has not yet begun. I expect a bloody 2015 with air raids throughout Syria by the aggressors JUST BECAUSE the SAA is victorious.. It is no coincidence seeing “NF” and… Read more »

Boiler, I am indeed. It is all relative, if I go back in time, this very day in 2012, we were all very down and concerned about Syria but Ziad and the SAA maybe, same day in 2013 we were very different, victory in Al Qusayr, Khanaser road free to suplly troops in Aleppo while SAA was moving toward the Industrial City and Al Qalamoun battle in full swing, moral was high and we had the feeling things had turned for good. Now, same day 2014, Al Qalamoun is rat free in all villages but the high mountains, Der Ez… Read more »

We already have a direct military intervention in both Syria and Iraq with air raids by NATO-member states and Israel.

What I mean by “all-out war” can be seen when one looks at the current ongoings in the Sinjar region. I am pretty confident that we will see attempts in this direction next year in Syria especially when the SAA will be victorious in the large cities. .

Keep your optimism and thank you for your extensive reply!

Boiler: Canthama may be an optimist, but no fool. Gruerilla wars are run, normally, on the ‘hit ’em where they ain’t’ principle, so the rats hit where they think there is a weak spot. Sometimes the rats stick, sometimes they don’t but every attack costs them experienced infantry which they cannot afford to lose, especially when they are busily alienating the area’s population. I don’t think that anyone seriously thinks that the balance of the war will be either easy or fast, but it will get done.

Always thought and still think Canthama’s a clever guy. I just want to highlight and stick to the fact that this is not a guerilla warfare, though guerilla warfare tactics may be displayed. (Just think of the massmurder of ordinary people as well as the security staff both in Syria and Ukraine to start the wars) This is and was from the start an open and direct foreign military intervention Friends of Syria should say this out loud, despite – or rather because of – the quislings on the ground to highlight their abject role. And they should be prepared… Read more »

Boiler: Historically, there are guerilla wars which are not proxy wars, but not lately. Syria is the first one where the financiers, sponsors and suppliers are pushed out into plain view for the world to see. Nepal was a ChiCom proxy, but Nepal got not a bean nor a bullet to support the government with the predictable result that the hinges were blown off the back door to India, where the Chicoms are cooking again. ‘Asymetrical warfare’, ‘insurgencies’ and such other loopy terms are given for the same general type of conflict which used to be fought by guerillas, but… Read more »

Thanks, Arklight.

What I am pointing to has nothing to do with semantics, but is conceptual. Stick to the facts. By the way, I understand that the wording “rats” may be appropriate within some military entities and also I guess that its application stems from people used to pictorial and metaphoric arabic language. Nevertheless, I don’t deem it appropriate for me european or any other “outside” – though I understand the compulsion to signify with the word “rat” what others would call “insurgent”, “traitor”, “rebel”, “freedomfighter” or “terrorist”.

IS kills 20 Syrian rebels near Damascus: report http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2014-12/18/c_133864471.htm DAMASCUS, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) — Islamic State (IS) militants killed 20 rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) overnight near Damascus, the pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV reported Thursday. The IS executed the FSA fighters after capturing them in the eastern part of the al-Qalamoun region in the northern countryside of Damascus, the report said. The militants have also threatened to kill three other FSA leaders in the same area if they do not pledge alliance to the leader of the IS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The FSA is a Western-backed opposition grouping that… Read more »

Iran backs Russia’s Syria talks initiative

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2014-12/18/c_127317268.htm

TEHRAN, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) — Iran backs talks between the Syrian government and the opposition groups, a senior Iranian diplomat was quoted as saying by local media on Thursday.

Iran supports Russia’s recent initiative to host a “Syrian-Syrian dialogue” in an attempt to end three-year-old conflict in the country, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said.

It is necessary to hold national reconciliation talks between the government and moderate oppositions in Syria, he said.

The Iranian official also said that these talks “should respect legal and international principles, including territorial integrity, national sovereignty

Must read. Takfiris, sponsors and their regional agenda takfiris-sponsors-and-their-regional-agenda-4756-articles.html by Yusuf Dhia-Allah December, 2014 The takfiris have not erupted in a vacuum. Their emergence is part of a carefully laid out plan to destroy Muslim societies, turn Muslims away from Islam and to protect the Zionist entity. Nothing emerges in a vacuum even if people are unaware of developments that suddenly erupt in some locale. The takfiris’ eruption is one such phenomenon. The primary reason for people’s lack of awareness is that the forces behind such groups and their media outlets deliberately keep people in the dark. It would not… Read more »

Mistral crews will return to Russia by year’s end. Well, since France welshed on its deal with Russia, and has missed the final deadline for delivery of the first completed ship, which cannot be done anyway, since Vladivostok’s commo gear was stolen off the ship and has not been recovered, so far as I know. Recall, if you will, that France still owes Iraq 16 Mirage F1s which were paid for but never delivered, for 20 years and more. Russia was buying electronics for combat helicopters from a French company, but I suspect that Russia has reverse engineered the gear… Read more »

SAA has achieved some solid results, especially in Deir Ezzor. It has been about one week since the midnight double VBIED attack on the air-base; however, it appears that SAA has been able to outsmart the enemy in addition to out-shooting and over powering them. Hopefully the good work and smart thinking continues. Some really unexpected moves and thinking outside of the box!!! When commanders take it upon themselves to always try to first outsmart the enemy, and then beat them, it helps save soldiers’ lives, and wins their respect. It also helps neutral observers gain confidence and trust in… Read more »
