Al-Hamraa Village: This village in the hands of the Syrian Army was the target of a formidable effort by Alqaeda/Nusra to storm military positions through the overwhelming use of cannon-fire. The outpost was very well supplied, however, with 4 T-72 battle tanks and an arsenal of Kornet anti-tank rockets and launchers. Add to this the very precise Intel which came from the SAA-MI people which alerted the soldiers to the terrorist advance and you have all the makings of another miserable chapter in the history of the Nusra group. It was a disaster for the terrorists.
Syrian soldiers from Brigade 66 opened fire on the approaching rats who were traveling mostly in 6 large trucks. The trucks were set aflame early on in the battle with injured rodents jumping out and screaming in several languages some of which were identified as Slavic and some in various dialects of Arabic. The army then focused their attention of 2 refurbished T-62 tanks which were clearly not up to the task since they had traversed many kilometers on their tracks. A TOW operator was shot by an SAA sniper and his launcher went up in flames when it inadvertently fired a rocket into a nearby truck incinerating all around it. A 23mm cannon aboard a pickup was also turned into so much dross.
Al-Lataamina: (SANA) The SAA destroyed a large bulldozer outside this town yesterday. The bulldozer was used to build up fortifications and create checkpoints for the rodents. No longer.
