AL-SUWAYDAA`: DEFENSE FORCES AMBUSH ISIS VULTURES IN THE DESERT; HOMS: NEW AREAS LIBERATED; DAYR EL-ZOR, ISIS TAKES BIG HITS

الجيش السوري

Koo’ Hidr Area in the Lijaat region:  The Popular Defense Committees racked up another spectacular operation capturing the ISIS rodents last night while they were coming in from the arid eastern sector.  According to our sources, 3 rodents were killed and several wounded.  They were seen scurrying back into the eastern desert in a haphazard manner.

_________________________________________________________

HOMS:  The SAA has made significant advances in the eastern region of this province in an effort to isolate the ISIS rodents in Palmyra.  The SAA controls the highest point of the Al-Hayyaan Mountain Range, Al-Hayyaal Mountain, standing at 939 meters and which overlooks the city.  Yesterday, ISIS tried desperately to retake the summit with artillery fire followed by an assault with 10 pickups all armed with Doschka cannons.  The SAA foiled the attack by pinning down the center of the assault as roving rangers armed with Kornet anti-tank launchers picked out the stragglers one by one.  When dawn rose, the scene was one of black smoke and the smell of cordite.  Field assessments concluded that the rodents lost 13 of their litter-mates as evidence of scores wounded was gleaned from the number of bandage wrappers found on the ground with hypodermics interspersed between the rocks.  A real mess.

Al-Qaddaahaat Valley:  The SAA has taken control over 2 elevations, one at 853 meters and the other at 600 meters.

DAYR EL-ZOR:

الجيش السوري يستعيد آبار نفط وغاز في ريف تدمر من المسلحين

Al-Tayyim Gas Field:  At the Al-Tharda Mountain Axis, Panorama and the Driving School 6 kms south of the city.  The SAA’s crack Republican Guard units inflicted horrific fatalities on ISIS destroying 2 pickups with 23mm cannons and a loaded tanker truck destined for Turkey.

Al-Tayyim Gas Field at the Petroleum Technological Institute:  In an unrelated operation, SAA ambushed a pack of ISIS rats on the Al-Shoolaa Road.  No details available.

Al-Bughayliyya Village at Al-Jazeera University in the West.  A truck carrying rats was assaulted by the SAA and PDC killing all occupants.

Huwayjat Sakr:  5 rodents confirmed killed and a pickup with cannon destroyed.  On the truck was a mortar launcher which was preserved by our forces for use in killing more Wahhabis.

Dayr El-Zor Airbase:  An assault by ISIS lasting 48 hours was finally repelled today.  I have no details.

Al-Sinaa’ah Quarter:  Firefight with no details.

Al-Maqaabir Mountain:  (Mountain of Cemeteries).  These were killed in fighting with the SAA:

Al-Haaj ‘Abdullah

Muhammad Faadhil

Jihaad Al-Saahir

Al-Huwayqa Quarter:  A pickup with 23mm cannon destroyed with a Kornet rocket.

Those mountains are pretty high compared with the surrounding terrain. It is interesting to see how the strategy is a fight for the mountains.

It is good to see that the SAA is gaining rather than losing mountains. Do you anticipate the SAA taking Raqqa with less Russian involvement Ziad?

Ziad, thanks for the up date, glad to see the advance in Der ez Zor, vital for a security ring but also to prep area for linking with the troops coming from Palmyra. Found the info below very useful, the RuAF planes staying in Syria: All Su-25SM (12) and all Su-34 (8) will be back to Russia The plan is to keep 12 Su-24M and all Su-30SM/35S (8) All helicopters (attack and transport) will stay in Syria. Hi Canthama, thank you for posting this, here at the think tank up here in harlem , we were having the same discussion , we found it interesting that Russia were sending home all the Bombers, especially the SU25 which is a dedicated troop/Tank killer aircraft, but is keeping all the Fighters/ interceptors in Syria, this can’t be good for Turkey and the Sauds and should be seen as a serious message to the enemies of Syria. Keeping the fighters can only mean that Russia has prepared itself for the new or next phase of the conflict if the occasion… Read more »

Yes , Geo-strategically Erdoghan/Turkey is finished, it is one of the unintended consequences of the the war on Syria, the war on Syria and the subsequent Russian intervention resulted in Syria now having the best armed, most motivated, highest morale, and most importantly the most experienced fighting force in the middle east.
The Turks have now resorted to do what they do best-murdering the kurdish people.

Leroy, yes ISIS had an “air force” it was mainly US/NATO with Turkey and Israeli sorties added in the mix to attack Syria. Russia can use their naval fleet to fire cruise missiles, their subs that they surely must have off the Syrian coast, their missile defense systems that are installed at their naval and airbases, and lest we forget, they have added and beefed up their airbase in Armenia, of which they have recently signed a “defense pact” with, and we ALL know WHO that little item was directed at!!! Obama announced his Supreme Court nominee.
Merrick Garland.
He is – wait for it – a Jew.
Right now, there are three Jews on the court. Adding a fourth would make the court 45% Jewish.
Jews are 2% of the US population. Yellow Asians are 5.6% of the population. Is there anyone who wouldn’t find it weird to have the Supreme Court 4/9ths Asian?

Well, they start from where the link is weakest. You have already a de facto Kurdish autonomous region in Iraq, now followed by a Syrian carved up territory.

So you have the legitimacy and the core of Kurdistan in place.

Next comes the big challenge to split Turkey, which is the real prize here. It is unfortunate that Iraq and Syria are harmed, but they are not the main target. It is Turkey that is the obstacle that need be reduced.

And then, the Saudi Arabia, and not unlikely, Israel.

Well stated Chevi, people failed sometimes to realize that Russia’s relationship with Syria is not a new one , it goes back decade.
Who can forget the 73′ war when Russia/USSR re-supplying Syria, Turkey threatened to Close the Bosporus to Russian Ships, Leonid Brezhnev told the Turks that if they do he would widen the Bosporus by 100 miles wide with a nuclear bomb. And it was not the first time Brezhnev threatened to use nuclear weapons in the middle east.

Dacian, Russia HAD the Bosporus in 1853 but they negotiated it away when the kike controlled Britain ruled by Disraeli threatened to send British and French military into the region and side with Turkey. So we have the situation today where Turkey is in full control of the area. I think Russia should have called Disraeli’s bluff because the Straits are in Russia’s backyard and could have been easily defended, and I think Germany’s Bismarck could have been persuaded to side with Russia, as they eventually had the Three Emperor Pact with Germany (Kaiser) Austria, and Russia. I agree with you. My humble opinion is that Turkey is going to be torn apart with Kurdish revolution as soon as the situation in Syria is resolved or at least calmed down. The fighting will not stop, it will simply spread from Syria to Turkey. I see now for the first time why the Turks have supported ISIS all these months. They see ISIS as the lesser of the two evils.

I see from your commentary where your sympathies really lie and they are not with Syria if your are worrying on behalf of the Faux Ottoman regime, the pathetic Riddah regime and the Jewish Tribalist Project.

Excerpt from an article about the ghost city of Ani in what is at present NE Turkey’s border with Armenia. The presence of Kurdish rule in eastern Turkey goes back almost a millennium. “The Seljuk Empire – a Turkish state in Anatolia that drove out the Byzantines and eventually gave way to the Ottoman Empire – controlled the greater area of what is today northeast Turkey and Armenia beginning in the mid-1000s. However, in 1072, the Seljuks granted control of Ani to an Islamic dynasty of Kurdish origin, the Shaddadids. The Shaddadids, in turn, left their mark on Ani with… Read more »

Dacia, many people misinterpret what is happening, the Russians are NOT calling the shots, not with Putin in charge anyway, he is a respectful man. Many people forget Syria has been a Russian ally for decades, as well as having bases in Syria, Russia is also gratefull for Syria’s long standing relationship.

The relationship between Russia and Syria is much older than one decade, for example Dr Al-Assad’s father Hafez, was trained as an airforce pilot in Russia about 50 years ago. (Somewhere on the internet I read) the relationship can be traced back at least two and a half centuries.

‘Putin is a respectful man’. LOL. The surest proof that Putin and the imperialists standing behind him (Obama admits he outsourced Syria policy to Russia) are calling the shots with regard to Syria is the latest ceasefire as well as the so called Geneva process. When Assad’s forces were advancing everywhere threatening to annihilate the enemy (which i correctly called out as a US-Israeli green light for Assad), only to be stopped in their tracks by a secret US-Russian consultation following which a ceasefire agreement was devised completely independent of any Syrian hand, then you cannot talk about sovereignty or… Read more »

The FACT is that Assad still stands only due to American permission, this could all be over in a matter of hours if Obomber gave the green light for an air and missile attack on Assad’s already worn out and crumbling military architecture, Assad knows this, the Russians know it, everyone knows it. Same location though using different parts, but during the last 5 months hardly no civilian flight landed there due to the sheer amount go landing and take off of fighters and bombers.
With the reduction of RuAF airplane nbrs and raids, it is very likely that in few weeks the airport will be busy with civilian flights.

This is an old wikimapia, the airport/AB is much different than the pic, several constructions were added to support the fighters and bombers during maintenance and refueling, northwest and northeast of the runways.

You do not seem to measure the domino effects of a possible autonomy of the Kurds. It is the disappearance of the Syrian state as such, and it was the objective of the USA and Israel! for the central government it will not be acceptable without prerequisites: alliance with Iran and Hezb maintained, golan etc…
According to me it will not be made without a confrontation on the ground to show to the Kurds that there will be red lines not to be crossed

What the Russian “Withdrawal” from Syria Means and What It Doesn’t So why would Putin announce a partial “withdrawal,” especially since we can presume that he would be well aware of the way in which he would be represented in the Western press? Why would Putin feel the need to make the announcement public at all? Why not simply make the directive, allow it to be carried out, and maintain the public perception that Russia is still fully involved in Syria? A Strategy Discussion: The Kurds of Iraq and Syria want autonomy now and to take as much land with them as they can when they decide to secede from each country. They want a mechanism to continue the anti-Iran takfeeri coalition to kill Shia everywhere. They believe the Kurds will provide an alternative to reconciliation with the government for Sunnis to fight both politically and militarily, but it will instead promote the opposite, a unified country opposed to a foreign occupation and attempts at secession. The Kurds dont “deserve” anything any more than Albanians “deserve” Kosovo, a historic region of Serbia. Once Daesh is destroyed, it become a race. I will not disclose more.

Further to that point, how long would such a coalition last before the Kurds dominate in all aspects and control the wealth and governance of this new ‘autonomous’ state. Perhaps in time they will attempt the ethnic cleansing of Turkmen and Assyrians. Just like the coalitions of convenience of the rats, jealousy and greed will prevail and once again the Kurds will be at war for survival .. or stateless.

This is a must read as it explains in quite some detail where Russia’s real standing is in the great power game. The Withdrawal from Syria and Putin’s Dual Realism No illusions here. Some highlights: 1. The US blackmailed Russia with the possibility of a military confrontation with one of their allies (Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia). In the event of a conflict the Americans were ready to side with the Turks and the Saudis. These countries repeatedly made unambiguous hints about the possibility of an invasion of Syria. I believe the illusion of Russian ‘promotion’ was a mis-reading of Russia’s weapons capability. Russia was only doing what it could back up. That meant re-absorbing Crimea. And it meant the intervention in Syria. If Breedlove (an idiot) had only done his job and correctly assessed Russia’s military strength, he might’ve seen these moves coming. Clearly the CIA/DIA/NSA are too busy spying on Americans for blackmail purposes, and creating Frankenstein monsters like ISIS to do their core job — get intelligence. Breaking: Thayyem Oil Fields under Syrian Army fire control By Leith Fadel

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-thayyem-oil-fields-syrian-army-fire-control/ | Al-Masdar News

Minutes ago in the Deir Ezzor Governorate’s southwestern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Tank Division – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – declared fire control over the Thayyem Oil Fields after a fierce battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) today.

ISIS Loses Almost 1/4th Of Its Territory In Iraq And Syria

“Fighters are becoming disenfranchised… and are in increasing numbers choosing to leave the group,” Kirby told reporters, adding that the jihadis were increasingly reliant on child soldiers to battle “side-by-side with adult fighters.”

Obviously “Putin” (or rather his handlers) will not pull out of Syria completely. Russia would loose any influence, if it did. And what would Israel do in this case? Russia is in Syria not only to keep Turkey away. Even more important for Russia and USA is protection of Israel. USA and Israel want Russia to stop Syria, Iran, Hezbollah from doing anything bad to Israel. http://www.worldtribune.com/russia-reassures-israel-over-implications-of-syria-pullout/ Israel wants assurances that Syrian President Bashar Assad’s anti-Israel allies Iran and Hizbullah would continue to be restrained after Moscow’s pullout. ‘We will try to ensure that this (Syria) crisis is resolved, and… Read more »

We have another Jewboy here: “Ozskeptic”. Those crazy Judaists lose their temper when it comes to their beloved Israel. Always revealing… He confuses me with some Jason or Mentat. He obviously is a stupid Jew (he “works” for a living by taking charity in his Jew ghetto, while I certainly don’t take any welfare – Jew chutzpah …lol…), so he can’t understand that they were anti-Assad and anti-Iran. But a stupid Jew can’t make any simple though processes. He is too stupid. One boy claims to write under his own name. Only an idiot would believe it. If he does,… Read more »

Kerry declares ISIL violence against minorities ‘genocide’
The obama regime is cracking in it’s death throes. They are caving.
The have been willfully covering this up for years now. You think these left wing enemies came out admitting this because they had a change of heart all of a sudden? FUCK no.
They are morbidly afraid of Trump now, and they need an attempt to pretend they care… that they are concerned with what has been public knowledge for awhile now.

Putin: Meanwhile, the government troops in Syria will not conduct any action against the armed units of the Syrian opposition that indicated their commitment to a ceasefire. At the same time, I would like to stress that any group violating the ceasefire will be taken off the list provided by the United States, with all the consequences that come with it. In this connection, I would like to specify the tasks our service personnel remaining in the Syrian Republic will be working on. I will repeat that the primary task is to monitor ceasefire and create conditions for a political… Read more »

Just in case any one doesn’t follow the link here is the full speech. Compulsory reading. President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Comrade officers, friends, I would like to welcome you – all the service personnel who took part in the operation in Syria. All of you – pilots, sailors, service personnel of control bodies, of special purpose units, intelligence, communication and procurement, military advisers – acted consistently and with precision. Words of special gratitude go to the female service personnel. You serve alongside men, with persistence and dignity. Your choice in life brings you our deep respect. Thank you all… Read more »

At the time Russia started the air campaign in Syria, USA roughly completed one year of a declared similar campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq.
In case SAA now successfully complete the job, I wonder what USA have to tell the Iraqi government or any other government facing terrorist threats in the World.

it is not Russian withdrawal but the manner it is indecently hastened up with a day of surprsie announcement without even Assad being ibformed initially raises the question. Let us see the pattern here Before Russia agreed to UNSC santions against Libya this Fm Lavrov was lecturing Libya to bring so called reforms etc in other words he was ready to betray Libya. In many of Iran, syrian and libyan sanctions this kavrov _initially denying western appraoxh-turned opposite and did put Russian aroval on Un sanctions agaibst Russian allies. Kurt, you claim this as if Putin was Stalin, the country depends on what their leader is like, Putin contrary to your beliefs is NOT a traitor, blame who did what on who actually did it and not the person so many years later who had nothing to do with it.

Russia was previously controlled by the NWO. You paranoid Eastern European types she is no longer! Putin jailed Jacob Rothschild’s Khodorkovsky who sent his shares back to Jacob Rosthschild in the City of London. I trembled when I read that in the British Press! Was this a crack in Kennedy’s “Montrous and monolithic conspiracy?” I studied it for weeks and decided “Yes!” I have been proved correct with time. What has Putin done since? Putin has banned GMO. Putin has banned Big Pharma. Putin was the first to bomb the crap out of rats in Chechnya. Putin was the first… Read more »

Georgia and Ukraine were a CIA provocation. Don’t blame Russia for that.

Russia did not cancel that S-300PMU anti-aircraft missiles deal with Iran. It was the other way around.

{ Iran most recently, has declared that it cannot afford to pay for the S-300PMU air-defense weapons it ordered from Russia. }

Yes true. They are making their own. Iran is proving to be highly skilled at the replication game.
Economically and strategically a smart move. How many countries in the world other than China and Iran are capable of non-dependence on the 2 super-powers for weaponry?

Penny’s latest thoughts: (I tried to log in to post but unlike Syper, her site claimed mine was not a legitimate email address, LOL) [A separatist region in Syria was ANNEXED, by the US and NATO, to destroy Syria as we have all known it! As I’ve stated all along. The PKK is a terrorist organization. YPG is their affilliate and is full of Kurdish and friend terrorists. The plan was to balkanize or federalize, as the compromise, Syria. This will, as has been stated here, embolden the PKK, as it has been, to tear Turkey apart. And they are.… Read more »
