AL-SUWAYDAA`: DEFENSE FORCES AMBUSH ISIS VULTURES IN THE DESERT; HOMS: NEW AREAS LIBERATED; DAYR EL-ZOR, ISIS TAKES BIG HITS

الجيش السوري

Koo’ Hidr Area in the Lijaat region:  The Popular Defense Committees racked up another spectacular operation capturing the ISIS rodents last night while they were coming in from the arid eastern sector.  According to our sources, 3 rodents were killed and several wounded.  They were seen scurrying back into the eastern desert in a haphazard manner.

_________________________________________________________

HOMS:  The SAA has made significant advances in the eastern region of this province in an effort to isolate the ISIS rodents in Palmyra.  The SAA controls the highest point of the Al-Hayyaan Mountain Range, Al-Hayyaal Mountain, standing at 939 meters and which overlooks the city.  Yesterday, ISIS tried desperately to retake the summit with artillery fire followed by an assault with 10 pickups all armed with Doschka cannons.  The SAA foiled the attack by pinning down the center of the assault as roving rangers armed with Kornet anti-tank launchers picked out the stragglers one by one.  When dawn rose, the scene was one of black smoke and the smell of cordite.  Field assessments concluded that the rodents lost 13 of their litter-mates as evidence of scores wounded was gleaned from the number of bandage wrappers found on the ground with hypodermics interspersed between the rocks.  A real mess.

Al-Qaddaahaat Valley:  The SAA has taken control over 2 elevations, one at 853 meters and the other at 600 meters.

DAYR EL-ZOR:

الجيش السوري يستعيد آبار نفط وغاز في ريف تدمر من المسلحين

Al-Tayyim Gas Field:  At the Al-Tharda Mountain Axis, Panorama and the Driving School 6 kms south of the city.  The SAA’s crack Republican Guard units inflicted horrific fatalities on ISIS destroying 2 pickups with 23mm cannons and a loaded tanker truck destined for Turkey.

Al-Tayyim Gas Field at the Petroleum Technological Institute:  In an unrelated operation, SAA ambushed a pack of ISIS rats on the Al-Shoolaa Road.  No details available.

Al-Bughayliyya Village at Al-Jazeera University in the West.  A truck carrying rats was assaulted by the SAA and PDC killing all occupants.

Huwayjat Sakr:  5 rodents confirmed killed and a pickup with cannon destroyed.  On the truck was a mortar launcher which was preserved by our forces for use in killing more Wahhabis.

Dayr El-Zor Airbase:  An assault by ISIS lasting 48 hours was finally repelled today.  I have no details.

Al-Sinaa’ah Quarter:  Firefight with no details.

Al-Maqaabir Mountain:  (Mountain of Cemeteries).  These were killed in fighting with the SAA:

Al-Haaj ‘Abdullah

Muhammad Faadhil

Jihaad Al-Saahir

Al-Huwayqa Quarter:  A pickup with 23mm cannon destroyed with a Kornet rocket.

Those mountains are pretty high compared with the surrounding terrain. It is interesting to see how the strategy is a fight for the mountains.

It is good to see that the SAA is gaining rather than losing mountains. Do you anticipate the SAA taking Raqqa with less Russian involvement Ziad?

Ziad, thanks for the up date, glad to see the advance in Der ez Zor, vital for a security ring but also to prep area for linking with the troops coming from Palmyra. Found the info below very useful, the RuAF planes staying in Syria: All Su-25SM (12) and all Su-34 (8) will be back to Russia The plan is to keep 12 Su-24M and all Su-30SM/35S (8) All helicopters (attack and transport) will stay in Syria. The list above shows an interesting choice of keeping proved night/day bombers such as the Su24M while keeping all air superiority new fighters,… Read more »

Obama announced his Supreme Court nominee.
Merrick Garland.
He is – wait for it – a Jew.
Right now, there are three Jews on the court. Adding a fourth would make the court 45% Jewish.
Jews are 2% of the US population. Yellow Asians are 5.6% of the population. Is there anyone who wouldn’t find it weird to have the Supreme Court 4/9ths Asian?
US is really cucked beyond belief

With all due respect for Ziad and Syria supporters, it does appear that Russians are calling the shots in Syria. Here is a short excerpt from Fort Rus: Russia’s de-escalation “Unlike in 2015 when Assad’s departure or ouster was only a matter of months or even weeks today things have changed, and it was mainly Russian airstrikes that turned the tide for the Syrian President.[. . .] The scaling down of Russia’s military involvement in Syria also serves as a powerful signal to Assad himself. In February the Syrian president made a statement in which he defied US and Russia’s… Read more »

This is great news. It means that Assad will continue to persecute the effort, regardless of how much foreign support he receives. Assad was in a bad way before the Russian support, but not as bad as the troll machine would have readers believe. I have been following closely.

You do not seem to measure the domino effects of a possible autonomy of the Kurds. It is the disappearance of the Syrian state as such, and it was the objective of the USA and Israel! for the central government it will not be acceptable without prerequisites: alliance with Iran and Hezb maintained, golan etc…
According to me it will not be made without a confrontation on the ground to show to the Kurds that there will be red lines not to be crossed

What the Russian “Withdrawal” from Syria Means and What It Doesn’t So why would Putin announce a partial “withdrawal,” especially since we can presume that he would be well aware of the way in which he would be represented in the Western press? Why would Putin feel the need to make the announcement public at all? Why not simply make the directive, allow it to be carried out, and maintain the public perception that Russia is still fully involved in Syria? Most likely, the Russian announcement was more politically based than anything else. For instance, one aspect of the announcement,… Read more »

A Strategy Discussion: The Kurds of Iraq and Syria want autonomy now and to take as much land with them as they can when they decide to secede from each country. This is their imperial and colonial period where they tro to maximize their holdings and settle in to control key assets, oil and gas, water and power, and access to the sea although Turkey is their primary obstacle both in Alexandretta and Idlib at the moment. Every place where a Kurd resides or a soldier stands will become Kurdish in their eyes. They ignore demographic changes from which they… Read more »

U.S. needs to reflect failed policy as Syrian war enters sixth year NEW YORK, March 15 As Syria’s civil war dragged into its sixth year on Tuesday, a flicker of hope has arisen to end a conflict that has sucked in global powers, spewed out a flood of refugees, and fueled the rise of the Islamic State. Diplomatic momentum is gaining traction. One day earlier, the long-stalled peace talks pencilled in by the United Nations, resumed in Geneva. Russia, in a surprise move, ordered the withdrawal of the “main part” of its forces from Syria beginning Tuesday, the fifth anniversary… Read more »

What has just taken place in the North of Syria is paradoxical: the Kurds made the unanimity against them! And it will be their misfortune there if they do not become allied with Damascus within a unified and centralized state. They can be a part of the future of Syria or to be the abscess which everybody will bang !

This is a must read as it explains in quite some detail where Russia’s real standing is in the great power game. The Withdrawal from Syria and Putin’s Dual Realism No illusions here. Some highlights: 1. The US blackmailed Russia with the possibility of a military confrontation with one of their allies (Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia). In the event of a conflict the Americans were ready to side with the Turks and the Saudis. These countries repeatedly made unambiguous hints about the possibility of an invasion of Syria. The objective of the Americans was to apply direct pressure, using threats,… Read more »

Obviously “Putin” (or rather his handlers) will not pull out of Syria completely. Russia would loose any influence, if it did. And what would Israel do in this case? Russia is in Syria not only to keep Turkey away. Even more important for Russia and USA is protection of Israel. USA and Israel want Russia to stop Syria, Iran, Hezbollah from doing anything bad to Israel. http://www.worldtribune.com/russia-reassures-israel-over-implications-of-syria-pullout/ Israel wants assurances that Syrian President Bashar Assad’s anti-Israel allies Iran and Hizbullah would continue to be restrained after Moscow’s pullout. ‘We will try to ensure that this (Syria) crisis is resolved, and… Read more »

Kerry declares ISIL violence against minorities ‘genocide’
The obama regime is cracking in it’s death throes. They are caving.
The have been willfully covering this up for years now. You think these left wing enemies came out admitting this because they had a change of heart all of a sudden? FUCK no.
They are morbidly afraid of Trump now, and they need an attempt to pretend they care… that they are concerned with what has been public knowledge for awhile now.

Putin: Meanwhile, the government troops in Syria will not conduct any action against the armed units of the Syrian opposition that indicated their commitment to a ceasefire. At the same time, I would like to stress that any group violating the ceasefire will be taken off the list provided by the United States, with all the consequences that come with it. In this connection, I would like to specify the tasks our service personnel remaining in the Syrian Republic will be working on. I will repeat that the primary task is to monitor ceasefire and create conditions for a political… Read more »

At the time Russia started the air campaign in Syria, USA roughly completed one year of a declared similar campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq.
In case SAA now successfully complete the job, I wonder what USA have to tell the Iraqi government or any other government facing terrorist threats in the World.

In many of Iran, syrian and libyan sanctions this kavrov _initially denying western appraoxh-turned opposite and did put Russian aroval on Un sanctions agaibst Russian allies.
